Good Friday Liturgy of the Cross

Occuring
for 1 hour
Venue
St John The Evangelist, Montreux
Address
Av. de Chillon 92 Montreux, 1820, Switzerland

Good Friday is not simply the anniversary of a past event. The solemn service allows us to enter into the mystery of what Christ has done for us and continues to do.
At the heart of the service is the Proclamation of the Cross where we venerate the cross and, in union with Christ, entrust to God our own burdens and the suffering of the whole world.
In this service we receive the Sacrament that was reserved on Maundy Thursday. The two days are connected in this action, for together they speak of Jesus' self-offering and loving service. Holy Communion draws us into Jesus' passion in the most powerful way.

Safeguarding

In common with the rest of the Diocese in Europe, we have robust procedures to ensure the safety of young children and vulnerable adults. St John’s designated safeguarding officer is Jane François. Please contact her at [email protected] for any enquiries or concerns.
